Sex Goddess’ New Year’s Resolutions

‘The end of this 2007 year has been breathless to say the least; I've allowed your messages to pile up unanswered, your desires unanswered, and I am so sorry.’

Oh, my dear lovelies,

I must apologize. The end of this 2007 year has been breathless to say the least; I've allowed your messages to pile up unanswered, your desires unanswered, and I am so sorry. It wasn't because I wasn't thinking of you -- I swear! I have no other audience with which I'm being unfaithful to you. I have barely been able to uphold my orgasm-a-day practice and honestly, some days it's hard to be a sexpert.

So, without further excuses, here are my resolutions for the New Year, for 2008. I am a fan of having a set of sexual, sensual resolutions in addition to any others, because I deeply believe that the sacred transgression keeps us grounded. Touching ourselves keeps us in touch with ourselves; touching others helps us to stay in worship of those most familiar miracles: flesh, breath, desire, the hardening of the body, orgasm, reproduction, all of it. SO, I resolve:

1. To upkeep my orgasm-a-day practice. This has morphed as I come to understand the constantly shifting definition of orgasms. Each day I take time as a meditation on pleasure, relieving the need for touch. Most of time it leads to orgasm, but sometimes it's just play, delight, or sneaking a sensual touch in a off-limits place (the Mile High Club is open to singles). I invite you all to join me in this pleasure meditation! It improves your general spirit and keeps your perspective right.

2. To embark on at least one sexual adventure each month. Beyond the normal wonders of the bed, bath and beyond are journeys I call sexual adventures -- indulging a long-held fantasy, taking a field trip to a place of ill repute, attending a sex party, buying a new toy, taking a new lover, or locking myself away from world for a day to push my personal sexual boundary for pleasure.

3. To spend time, and encourage everyone I meet to spend time, in front of a mirror, or putting on lotion or oil, or doing self-manicure or pedicure or facial, or other ways of engaging intentionally with my body in a loving way. Sex with others is one of the ways to practice personal sexual identity ... it shouldn't be the only way. I meet too many women, and a terrifying number of men, who never engage in sensual activity with themselves and wonder why they feel tired, imbalanced, lonely, numb. This is the first gift, these bodies of ours. Enjoy them!

Happy New Year's!!
